What is Lightning Blackjack?
Lightning Blakcjack is a table game in the same way as baccarat, roulette or even the classic blackjack. As with the game of blackjack the goal of lightning blackjack is to get a higher score than the dealer without exceeding 21. The best hand in this version of the game remains the blackjack. To get a blackjack, the sum of your first two cards must add up to 21. No more, no less. The other players are not your opponents. Your sole and only opponent is the dealer. Unlike regular blackjack, there is no limit to the number of players.
So you’re going to tell us what makes it different to classic blackjack? In the Lightning version of this game the special feature is that your winnings are not simply doubled when you win a hand. In fact you can win from 2 to 25 times your bet!
The different characteristics of the game:
- It is played with 8 decks of 52 cards
- The dealer always stands on 17
- You can double your two initial cards
- When the dealer gets an Ace, he checks if he has blackjack
- A draw with the dealer is possible
- You can split only once per hand
- When splitting aces you will only receive one card
- You can’t double after a split
- You can take the insurance when the dealer gets an ace
- Two cards of equal value can be split
- Blackjack pays 3:2
- Winning with insurance pays 2:1

The rules of Lightning Blackjack
We have seen the basic rules of Lightning Blackjack above. Let’s go more into detail now. If you already play classic Blackjack you won’t be lost, as these two games are pretty identical.
- The game is played with eight decks of 52 cards
- The game is hosted by a dealer
- Cards from 2 to 10 are worth their value
- 10s and heads are all worth 10
- Ace value is either 1 or 11, whichever is more favourable to the player
An infinite number of people can play this game at the same time. Once betting time is over, the dealer will deal a card face up to the players. The dealer will then draw himself a card face up and another face up card for the players. Finally, the dealer draws a second card for himself, but face down.
The Lightning rules
You must place a mandatory “flash fee” to play on this table. Its value is 100% of your initial bet (if you bet 1€, the flash fee is also 1€). You will then have a chance to get a multiplier for your next hand. When you double or split your hand, your “flash bet” remains unchanged.
As soon as bets are closed, the Lightning multipliers appear. To qualify for this multiplier you must have won your previous hand with “17 or less”, 18, 19, 20, 21 or the famous blackjack. This is when these winning hands will come in and apply a multiplier of x2 to x25.
Have you just won your last hand but need to stop playing? Don’t panic, Evolution Gaming lets you use your multiplier for your next round of play over a 180-day period. If you play your hand with a 10€ bet and come across a winning hand with an assigned multiplier of 5x, then you win 50€ and also get your initial bet back.
Splitting and doubling your hand
When you split a hand, the multiplier will then be applied to the hand with the higher multiplier. In the event of a tie you lose the “flash fee” and your multiplier but you get your original bet back. If you use the “insurance” the “lightning fee” (lightning fee) and your multiplier will be lost.
For the other rules it’s exactly like blackjack. We have reviewed the blackjack rules for you. You can find them here.
